"Miss Liberty" Rama0999's photos around New York City, United States

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to New York City, United States by TravelPod blogger Rama0999 titled "Miss Liberty" Rama0999's travel blog entry: "An early wake up this morning as Dad and I headed off to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. On the train this morning we were treated to a 20 second piece by a trio of random African American acapella singers. They could have been good, but were too short and we couldn't scramble to get our cameras out quick enough. Our tickets for the ferry were for 9am and we arrived at 9.01am but as we found out the ferry leaves every 20 minutes and the time is just a guide of when to come. As I hadn't had breakfast I had one of those enormous pretzels and an apple juice. Dad started saying he felt he was a bit queasy as we got onto the boat which wasn't a great sign, but we headed off to Liberty Island all the same. Miss Liberty is an amazing statue made of copper which has turned to its current colour over the years and didn't actually begin like that. We had an audio set as part of the tour and Dad disappeared as he listened to the parts he was up to. Once I had finished the 20 minute tour there was Dad sitting down looking fairly sick. We went up to the café and dad headed to the bathroom and had a drink. Slowly he started to feel better and we were on our way to Ellis Island. This island is where all immigrants were processed before entering the country. It was a very interesting museum ...

d'Housemusi live at Kneipenbühne February 19, 2011

THE AZ OF ATV - Part 2 of 4.flv

Part 2 of "The AZ of ATV". Whilst ATV lost its London franchise to London Weekend Television in 1968, it continued to be responsible for some of the ITV networks biggest shows from "The Persuaders!" to "The Muppet Show", as well as the soaps, "Emergency, Ward 10", "Crossroads" and latterly, "General Hospital". The company was also big on variety, bringing Morecambe & Wise into living rooms for the first time and game shows from "The Golden Shot" to "Celebrity Squares" and later, "Family Fortunes". There were big productions aimed at the US market like, "This Is... Tom Jones" and later "The Muppet Show", and not forgetting Des O'Connor!
